Bion Tsang is back on American Public Media's Performance Today. Heard today during the second hour of the broadcast is Bion's performance of the Mozart Sonata for Bassoon and Cello in B Major, K. 292, with bassoonist Kristin Wolfe Jensen. The recording was made during a marathon concert in Bates Recital Hall in Austin, TX on Friday, September 14, 2012 celebrating Bion's first ten years at the UT Butler School of Music.

Bion Tsang appears on a new CD, Returning Souls, to be released by New World Records this month. The disc features the music of composer Shih-Hui Chen (b. 1962) and reflects upon Ms. Chen's experiences of being able to return to her native Taiwan for a year in 2010 as a Fulbright Scholar specifically to study its music. Bion performs in Returnings for Flute, Cello and Percussion with flutist Leone Buyse and percussionist Robert Schulz.

Returning Souls will be released on August 13 and is available for pre-order from Amazon.com.

Hear Bion Tsang perform as soloist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra on American Public Media's Performance Today.

Closing the second hour of today's broadcast is Bion's performance of the Tchaikovsky Variations on a Rococo Theme with conductor Roberto Abbado and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. The recording comes from the last of four concerts and was made at Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis, MN.

Get a sneak preview of Bion Tsang's upcoming release of the Bach Unaccompanied Cello Suites at the Ashmolean Museum!

If you're traveling to England this summer, Bion Tsang's recording of the Gigue from the Bach Suite No. 3 in C major is a part of the Ashmolean Museum's special exhibition celebrating the life and work of Antonio Stradivari. Bion can be heard on the exhibit's Audio Guide performing on the legendary "Bass of Spain" Stradivari cello. It is amongst recordings on other Stradivari instruments performed by the likes of James Ehnes, Yuri Bashmet and Gregor Piatigorsky.

Established in 1678, the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology at the University of Oxford is the world's first university museum. The Stradivarius exhibit runs from June 13 until August 11, 2013.
