Tartini Grave

Giuseppe Tartini's Grave ed espressivo, from his Concerto in D, for Cello and Piano has been added to the Performance Library. Bion Tsang's performance with pianist Craig Sheppard was part of a concert celebrating the life of cellist Toby Saks, longtime Artistic Director of the Seattle Chamber Music Society. Rachmaninoff Vocalise

Rachmaninoff Vocalise

The Rachmaninoff Vocalise (Op. 34, No. 14) for Cello and Piano has been added to the Performance Library. Bion Tsang's performance with pianist Cecilia Lo-Chien Kao, a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano student ('13) at the UT Butler School of Music, was part of a concert in celebration of the 140th anniversary of Rachmaninoff's birthday (April 1, 1873). Bachianas Brasileiras

More live recordings have been added to the Performance Library: the Prelúdio (Modinha) from Villa Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 1 (1930) and the Aria (Cantilena) from the Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 (1938). Both performances were part of Bion's concert in Bates Recital Hall celebrating his first 10 years at UT. The marathon concert featured the debut of the Longhorn Cellos, which Prof. Tsang directs and which appears in these selections. From Benaroya Hall

Two more live recordings have been added to the Performance Library: César Franck's Cello Sonata in A Major with pianist Jeewon Park (performed on Friday, July 6, 2012) and Manuel de Falla's "Suite Populaire Espagnole" with pianist Inon Barnatan (performed on Monday, July 9, 2012). Both performances were part of the Seattle Chamber Music Society's 2012 Summer Festival in Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall and were recorded for live radio broadcast on Classical KING FM 98.1 in Seattle. Frank Bridge Sonata

Bion Tsang's latest performance of the Frank Bridge Sonata in D minor, H. 135, for Cello and Piano, with pianist Anton Nel has been added to the Performance Library.
